called Firestone, checked with them whether I could safely drive the car based on the symptoms; called Liberty Mutual, who called me back in less than five minutes with an estimate on my tow time.

They said they shouldn't have any problems getting my car out of the garage, even in a tight space... Hope they were right. O_o

Oh, I am also thankful the car waited until I started to pull into the garage before it went bust. Towing from Brea would have been ridiculous, and I would have been waiting at least an hour.
