Something I've noticed about Kamisama no Memo-chou -- granted that I haven't seen very much of it.

The characters are all proud slackers and even named their organization NEET, but none of them actually fit the description fully even though they appear to and say they do.
Dragons Dragons
In fact, by doing what they want, they're probably a lot more fulfilled.
Dragons Dragons
Alice is a master hacker and detective and she gathered the group together to solve mysteries when she wants to. She is working, and she's doing it because she wants to, not because it's what's "expected".

Same with Shousa: he ditches class and tries to say that his being in school "doesn't count" because he's only there to use the library.
Dragons Dragons
Which means he's going to school to learn and not because society has told him that employment opportunities he doesn't care about will only come if he goes and does well.
Dragons Dragons
Hiro is a womanizer and Tetsu a gambling addict, but being in the club shows off their other skills and helps them put these to work helping people as well. So they might look like slackers, but they're not.
Dragons Dragons
Maybe it's a commentary on how everybody thinks people who haven't gotten a job are "lazy" when they're, for the most part, really not?
