I've never felt like wako's guess was correct? It just seemed kind of a cop out lame first phase for the actual ginga bishounen.

And I once read a case for Takuto's first phase being something along the lines of "super quick learner/always gets [fighting technique] right by the second try." And that ability is canon.

Yeah, the ability to make people smile is what Wako guessed it was. But a charming person has that ability no matter what?

And it doesn't explain why he keeps saying "I can still see it" in the final episode.

And Tokio and Keisuke (or whatever his name is) go on about Takuto being able to see something that they can't.

So I'm concluding that Takuto's first phase is the ability to see with his heart, aka the ability to see the essential

This ability would actually explain why he can make people smile, though, too. Because its comparatively clearer for him to see "the essential"

Which, if we understand the Fox (from petit prince) to mean, "the essential" is the bonds between friends, the "taming"/apprivoise that occurs between people, people and animals, people and cybodies

And also, I think having this ability is what makes the scene inside Samekh with the masks that much more important. Takuto can still see his bond with Sugata.

If he were seeing with his eyes he might be deceived by the masks and Sugata's deception and Sanekh's will, but no. He just powers on.
