ugh, I said I'd do one more branch before doing something not-video-games and now I'm stuck on a puzzle.

it seems a little odd that the goldfile puzzles are, mostly, way easier than the escape puzzles.

and the last puzzle I was stuck on turned out to be that I'd missed a place one could zoom in on, because the interface is a little too fussy, but I don't think that's the case here.

Yeah, I think several times I thought I did everything I could, but I just had the gold file and no escape.

not ready for a hint yet, I'm going to put it away and do something else and come back later. especially since it's possible it's me failing like I did in the control room where I...misdivided 3600/11400

and kept trying to put the wrong number in.

but I really do feel like the escape puzzles should be the easier ones just because of how the mechanic works, and to get people to go back and revisit stuff more.

I also wish you had more than two screens to write on, or a way to photograph things in game/take additional notes, although it's possible the things filling up my notes are all just flavor and not important.

I've done enough to start seeing the structure of the metapuzzle, though, and like it. Now I just need to put together a lot more information.

oh, good grief, I am calling that poor puzzle constructing, because one should not penalize the player for stepping through solution 1 on the way to solution 2.

and kick them back out saying "you already have that solution". (Dice, archives.)

I was going for the exit solution originally, got most of the way there (i.e. all colors correct, numbers only mostly) and it was like SOLVED, handing me the goldfile.

so I didn't try to go for that setup again, instead assuming I just needed the numbers as the other solution was color-based only.

and then when I did try the color-and-number one again, it kicked me out as soon as I had all the colors in line, because the way I solved that was to toss the dice in position and then fix a number or two.

Yeah, same here =/ The puzzle itself wasn't as hard as a lot of players would have you believe, but a real pain in the ass

Having one solution be a subset of another solution was just bad design
