[Dragon Age II] Now it looks like I will not be able to finish this game that I have been having so much fun playing. There is a "bug" in the game's code that does not allow a rather important item to be used.

In Final Fantasy terms, this is the equivalent of a Phoenix Down. Without it I cannot hope to defeat the final encounters. I am... put out by this.

What caused the bug?

This isn't something wrong with my copy; apparently the game was released this way. Accoring to Teh Intarwebs, it doesn't crop up all the time, but in this case it did.
