No mother, I do not know how to do everything and anything digitally relevant. Stop getting mad at me if I don't know how something works!

She isn't the only one. My family and some of her older friends will do it too.

They'll just call me up out of the blue asking me a bunch of questions on 'how does X work' or 'why can't I download something onto Y' for devices I've never even looked at before.

I spent the last day figuring out how a Nook works and downloading free books for an 80 year old woman I never met.

I am my aunt's tech support so I don't blame you.

I have to help her learn how to use a digital camera and fix her mp3 player when it's acting weird

though sometimes I think it's fun though

telling them what they can do with it.

Like, I don't mind it if I had been ASKED or if I had any experience with the basic Nook e-reader, but my mother literally woke me up and demanded that I do it for her friend.

I guess? I dunno, I don't really get any enjoyment out of doing it at all. My family is pretty selfish and I don't even get a thanks out of it most of the time.

I can't even count the number of times I've woken up to someone leaving something for me to troubleshoot without asking first.
