DK weight yarn is the same as using 2 strands of figuring weight yarn, right?

DanaOfUnwind : no... mostly because I don't have the yarn yet. The pattern calls for a DK weight so I was thinking of some other options.

DanaOfUnwind : I have no clue. It's for my Knitting Game pattern winner so I'm looking into the price and fiber content of yarn.

DanaOfUnwind : But it's a lot easier to find figuring weight indie dyed yarns than DK weight, so that's why I was wondering.

hmmm... I think my friend gnomeacres might have some DK weight. so does dyeabolical, most likely.

DanaOfUnwind : I'll have to take a look then. The yarn used in the sample is a 50/50 wool/silk blend. Needing almost 2k yards of yarn...
