skerple
dipped on my target bird today but the scenery was very nice
skerple
I did get quite a nice photo of a robin
skerple
the creek was so FUCKIN picturesque
skerple
oh hey, on review I think this is a red-shafted northern flicker
skerple
in flight there's a white patch on the rump... in hindsight I DID see white rumps on several of the birds flying around
skerple
also I DID get a technical lifer on this trip - I heard, but did not see, a mountain chickadee
skerple
however the steller's jay remains elusive
skerple
though as a small consolation gift from the universe, this section of the salt river was COVERED in wigeons
skerple
and I mean COVERED
skerple
there were some coots mixed in with this group
spoopy👻shibe
there are so many stellars jays here sometimes they're just at my window being loud and annoying
skerple
spoopy👻shibe
: GRABBY HANDS
skerple
SEND THEM TO MEEEEE
spoopy👻shibe
I gladly would if I could
skerple
they're usually up in the mountains here but they're irrupting into the lowlands this year, so I had high hopes for today
skerple
I have wanted to see Literally Any Jay in the wild for sooooo loooong
skerple
like I treasure each and every raven I am blessed to see but I also want to see More Corvids
