It’s been a long and difficult few months... I’m sorry that you’re having to see this again. I hope this will be the last of it... I so want to put this stress behind me.
My insurance had no availability, and wanted me to wait until morning... in a bad part of Portland, with the dogs locked in the car, fastened to their car seat without food or water
i don't suppose you could ask around a local shelter or lgbtq society to see if they know anyone with repair skills who could offer a bit of pro bono assistance?
I was fortunate to meet someone who was able to help me out with switching my battery. I’d just met them by asking if they could give me a jump-- which took a lot for me. I am just so, so weary these days...
like, someone tried opening all my doors, and when they couldn’t get in, climbed onto the roof and started looking for a way to get in up there. in the middle of the day, in a busy parking lot. (This was when I was broke down. )

: thank you!! I’m going to comb through these suggestions. I’ve been saving up for a handful of solutions, including a better lock for the house door. I’m very open to any suggestions.
no prob, belatedly I realized that lights probably won't help much with that guy trying to break in in the middle of the day. lots of folks suggesting fake security cams/stickers but I'm not sure how effective those actually are.
sounds about right, even here in BC one of my previous workplaces had a guy walk right into our boardroom and walk right out with a Windows tablet, we had tracking software on it but the police said they couldn't do anything
And dunno if your RV has a car alarm, but if it does: "it may be useful to keep your vehicle’s key fob on your body or within easy reach when sleeping. If someone breaks into your camper or RV while you’re inside, simply press the alarm button to sound the car alarm."
only other suggestions I can find that seem useful are to turn on a light or crank up a radio to make it clear someone is inside. i'd personally only do that if the blinds were closed so that hopefully anyone outside can't tell how many people are inside the RV.
there was one recommendation that suggested recording yourself talking to someone so that you could play it back later in situations like that but uhhhh i'm not sure how well that would actually work, feels kind of home alone-y to me
Please help. I would be so incredibly grateful, on behalf of not just myself, but my two dogs.
I had packages stolen right in front of a doorcam last year, and never even got a response to my police report.
