I really love that when we met robosam he’s the first soulless person we’d known at that point. later in s11 we meet another, one we all expect to be another robosam. but len is kind and selfless. and sydney isn’t. it shows us that robosam was horrible not necessarily bc he was soulless, but bc he finally had the chance to be

that’s just one of my theories. there’s a lot of ideas about it in the fandom. like sam going through the motions but sometimes seems as if he’s finding pleasure in things and enjoying himself bc he’s sort of “releasing a pressure valve.”

Or the theory that Sam had a specific set of principles and ideas of what’s good and bad and stuck to those even when he had no emotions, like how Donatello used Mr Rodger’s as a guideline. but that he went a little off the rails bc he now didn’t have emotions to care how things got done, jobs got finished, people got saved, u get the point

I think it makes sense bc sam and dean become more and more willing to do things they used to think were horrible as the show goes on, showing they rly don’t have strong opinions on how they get things done. But themes of saving ppl and finishing jobs always stays 4 them

that’s a great point! they really do change as the seasons progress with how they save people and get jobs done, but they’ve always cared very strongly to do it. It goes to show just how much not only they have changed but their circumstances
