[catte] my boy is starting to get white hairs in his ears... his energy level doesn't seem to have diminished much nor his alertness and I guess what you'd call for "cognition" in cats, but... seeing visible signs of aging does break my heart a little. I know that he's 13 but he's still my sweet baby boy.

He only struggles to jump on things because he's fat which.. I'm trying to work on. I think he's lost a little weight, and he seems to have started managing his eating which is good.

in the old place, my roommate freefed her cats, so he used to gorge himself on the food for her cats, but I think over time he learned that he's not gonna starve, and has actually started leaving kibble in his bowl and just eating when he's hungry.

I don't know why he used to just eat and eat and eat... considering I've had him since 3mos. and he's never once gone hungry.

maybe it's depression? I don't know. He does cry very loudly when I get home from work now when I'm unpacking in the kitchen upstairs. He knows I'm home, and makes the most mournful sounds, even when I leave the basement door open so he can come up and say hi

he's weird

maybe he thinks that it'll get me downstairs faster? But if I go upstairs to like, make dinner or something, he doesn't mew a peep.

it's very strange

He sounds like such a sweet baby.
